“This statue is so life like,” Ashley stated as she approach Seth; touching his hand. The way Seth was positioned was that he was flat on his stomach, resting his head on his folded hands while looking straight ahead. Daisy was laughing nervously as she agreed with her. “This one’s a male right? He’s so handsome and his eyes are so beautiful,” Ashley said. Seth was quite flattered with her words, but he knew it wouldn’t be long until Ashley figured out the truth. When Ashley’s back was turned, Seth gave Daisy a look that said ‘do something’.
“Um…Ashley? C-Can we g-go?” Daisy asked, trying to sound afraid of Seth. “I’m sorry, this statue is scaring you isn’t it? Just let me check to see what the eyes are made of, and then we can go,” Ashley replied as she bent down and grabbed a stick. No matter how good Seth was at keeping still, there’s no way he wouldn’t move if a stick was poked at his eye. “Uh, Ashley I don’t think that’s a very good idea!” Daisy quickly exclaimed as she tried to get the stick out of Ashley’s hand. She was too late though as Ashley’s tapped the white part of Seth’s eye with the stick.
“Strange, it’s not made of glass?” Ashley questioned and she tapped Seth’s eye one more time; this time it hit the color of his eye. “OW!” Seth backed away from Ashley and started rubbing his eye. Upon Seth’s movement, Ashley dropped the stick and began to scream. Her scream was cut half way when Daisy put her hand over Ashley’s mouth saying, “Ashley it’s okay! He’s okay! I mean, he’s nice! He’s not going to hurt us, I swear! Honest!” Ashley looked at Daisy as if she was out of her mind.
“Ashley, you have to know it’s true if I’m the one who’s saying it,” Daisy quickly stated as Ashley tried to move Daisy’s hand from her mouth. Ashley paused and she looked up at the giant naga rubbing his eye. Ashley knew about Daisy’s fears, and if Daisy wasn’t afraid of him, neither should she. She looked at Daisy and nodded her head, and Daisy removed her hand. Daisy walked up to Seth and asked, “Seth? Um…are you alright?” Seth stopped rubbing his eye, “I’m fine, but seriously, who pokes a giant statue’s eye with a stick?” he looked at Ashley, causing her to step back.
Seth realized he scared her with his remark and said, “I’m sorry miss. I’m not mad at you. Please don’t look so terrified,” but Ashley stayed silent. This time it was Ashley’s turn to stay as still as a statue as she watched her best friend talking with this giant naga. “D-Daisy, I t-think you better start explaining,” Ashley finally said as she stared at Daisy. Daisy went back to Ashley, and she held her hand as she began explaining everything. Seth saw the two girls conversing and decided to rest while until they finish. Seth was still on his stomach as he crossed his arms and rested on them on the side of his head.
When Daisy finished explaining Ashley asked, “Ok so then how do we send that behemoth back home?” “Please do not call me that miss, it is insulting. My name is Seth,” Seth replied with moving from his resting position. Ashley stared at Seth then looked back to Daisy and asked, “He can hear me from over there?” Seth answered back again, “Yes, I can miss.” “I wasn’t asking you, I was asking her!” Ashley snapped back. Seth lifted his head and looked at her. Ashley started to tremble and stuttered, “S-Sorry.”
Seth sighed and said, “I’m not…” but before he could finish all three of them were surrounded by a bright light. “Oh no. Daisy, take your friend and run away now!” Seth cried out, but it was too late. The light had warped them back to Sirya. Back on Sirya, Daisy and Ashley had lost consciousness while Seth got up and made a perimeter around them with his lower body. Then he looked around and saw the primary snake not too far away and severely injured. The primary snake weakly lifted his head to look up at him and said, “I’m sorry sir.”
“Don’t apologize. Here, let me heal you,” Seth replied. As Seth was about to draw blood the snake shook its head and said, “It’s…too…late,” and died. Seth sadly looked at the dead primary snake and then buried it. Seth now looked at the two unconscious girls and sighed; now there were two people he had to get home. With this primary snake dead, he had to figure out where another one lived. He gently picked them up and headed back to his cave.
After the light surrounded Daisy for a second time she woke up and noticed she was in Seth’s cave. She had wondered if everything before was just a dream, but reality hit her in the face when she saw Ashley lying unconscious next to her. She looked around, but she didn’t see Seth anywhere. “Seth?” she called out. “Yes, I’m here,” Seth replied from the darkness of the cave. Daisy already understood why Seth was out of sight, it was for Ashley’s sake. “Seth, do you know what’s going on?” Daisy asked.
Seth sighed then explained, “The primary snake was trying to send me back here, but it didn’t realize you were still close by me and you and your friend warped with me. I tried to tell you to run away, but it was already too late. I’m sorry, but it seems you’ll be stuck here for a little while longer.” “Um…can’t you ask it to send us back?” Daisy asked. Seth was silent for a few moments before he replied back that the primary snake was dead. Daisy covered her mouth with both hands with horror and sadness. Even though she was afraid of it; she felt sad that the primary snake had died.
“Seth, how are Ashley and I going to get back home!?” Daisy asked panicked. “That snake said that it originally lived on Ruby’s Mountain so there’s a good chance that there is another one living here. Don’t worry, I’ll get you back home,” Seth replied. Daisy looked down and sighed then said, “I’m sorry, now you have two burdens to worry about,” “Daisy, I never thought of you as a burden. Now, that girl that is with you, is she the one you told me about before?” Seth asked.
“Yes, this is Ashley. She’s usually quite fearless, but given the situation you can’t blame her for being scared,” Daisy said. Seth laughed saying, “Of course.” Daisy looked at Ashley and noticed that she was beginning to wake up. Ashley awoke, sat up, and looked around. She saw Daisy sitting next to her, and asked, “Daisy? Where are we?” Daisy looked away from her and nervously replied, “We’re in…uh…Seth’s cave.”
