So Close! Ephilon Vs. Venom!

Ephi was in a great mood and standing on a deserted beach. He had finally caught Lira, a friend of his that he was playing a game with, after he made a plan that caused her plan to backfire on her. “So, uh, Ephi. Any chance of you letting me go now that you caught me?” Lira said sarcastically. She could tell by the look on his face that he was ready to devour her, and that he would enjoy it. “Tsk, tsk, tsk,” Ephi started, “Now Lira, I told you if you got to confident you were going to regret it,” he grinned bigger now.
Ephi held Lira by the tail and lifted her above his mouth. Lira started struggling which just amused Ephi even more. Just as he opened his mouth and was lowering Lira into it, he got sucker punched from the left. The punch caused Ephi to slightly lose his balance and let go of Lira. Lira safely landed on the ground and sighed a breath of relief. “Sorry Ephi, your loss,” and Lira dashed away. As Ephi was about to go after her, the one who punched him stood before him. It was a dridder with a black widow spider body, had pale white skin with a purple skull and cross bones on his chest, ebony hair, and amethyst eyes. And he didn’t look happy.
“You…” Ephi sneered, “I finally had her and you made me lose her! Who are you!?” The dridder protracted his claws, “I need not tell someone who’s about to die,” and he charged at Ephi. Ephi quickly jumped out of the way as the claws approached him. Dodging the attack, Ephi watched as the sand that was touched by the poisonous claws began to melt. Ephi whistled in amazement, “Don’t want that touching me,” he said. The dridder hissed at Ephi and said, “Lucky dodge, don’t expect it to happen again,” and he protracted the claws from his other hand.
Ephi stood up and grinned, “I won’t need to when I’ve shrunken you,” he began to shrink the dridder. Ephi was shocked when the dridder didn’t shrink. The dridder tilted his head, “You…shrink me? Ha! Magic doesn’t work on me human!” and he charged at Ephi. Ephi jumped back as the dridder swung his claws at him. Suddenly the dridder stuck his claws into his own shoulder and drew blood. “Injuring yourself? What are you planning?” Ephi asked.
The dridder flung his blood and it landed on Ephi’s right arm. “Hmm?” Ephi felt his arm tingling but it soon subsided. The dridder looked at Ephi amused, “Interesting…my blood seems to have no effect on you. I’ve never seen that from a human.” Ephi rolled his right shoulder in circles, “Hate to break it to you dridder, but I’m not exactly ‘human’.” The dridder laughed amusingly and said, “You’ll be worth the kill then,” and he charged at Ephi again.
Meanwhile, Lira was running when she suddenly stopped. “Wait a minute…” she turned around, “Wasn’t the one I ran past by that punched Ephi Venom?” She paused for a moment, “Oh shit! I have to get back there before one of them kills the other!” and she quickly ran back to Ephi and Venom.
Back with Ephi, Ephi was having just about enough of this dridder and he quickly dodged on kicked him right in the stomach. The dridder held his stomach briefly and coughed. “I had enough of this,” Ephi said and he began to grow bigger. When the dridder caught his breath he looked up at the now giant Ephi. The dridder grinned, “Bigger isn’t always better fool,” and he quickly dodged Ephi’s foot. The dridder started climbing up Ephi’s leg and began biting it in different places.
Ephi could feel tingling sensations all over his leg and eventually he fell onto his butt. The dridder climbed up to Ephi’s chest and looked at him saying, “My name isn’t Venom for nothing fool!” Ephi took this chance to grab Venom and started squeezing him. Venom quickly bit hard into Ephi’s thumb, causing him to let go. Venom revealed his claws and started charging at Ephi’s face but then suddenly stopped.
Ephi was curious at the dridder’s hesitation and did not move when he heard Venom say, “Lira what do you mean stop!?” Ephi looked carefully and saw something very tiny pouncing up and down on Venom’s shoulder. “Wait…you know Lira?” Ephi asked. Venom ignored Ephi, “Lira are you serious!? Tsk,” and Venom jumped off of Ephi and landed next to him. Ephi still didn’t understand what was going on but he took a deep breath, exhaled, and returned to his 10ft height.
When Ephi returned to his smaller size Lira jumped onto his knee and asked, “Ephi are you alright?” Ephi sighed, “I guess…” and began to stand up. Lira got off Ephi’s knee and returned to Venom’s shoulder and sat down. Venom, who now had his arms crossed, said, “I can’t believe this guy is that Ephi you were talking about Lira.” Ephi brushed the sand off his pants and said, “Oh yeah? And who are you supposed to be?” he looked at Venom. “Ephi this is Venom, my boyfriend,” Lira replied. Ephi slightly lost his footing in shock of Lira’s words and then straighten up again and said, “B-boyfriend!? Him!?”
Venom gave an angry glare at Ephi and hiss at him. Well, at least Ephi now figured out why this guy sucker punched him in the first place. He was trying to protect his girlfriend. “Lira you have strange tastes,” Ephi said and Venom hissed at him again. Lira started stroking Venom’s cheek, “Alright calm down Venom,” and Venom began to calm down. Lira looked to Ephi and said, “I guess this makes it 3-1 now.” Ephi glared at Lira, “Like hell it does! I had you Lira and you know it! He…” Ephi pointed at Venom, “Interfered! Interference does not give you the point!”
“Well I guess it doesn’t give you the point either Ephi,” Lira grinned back. Ephi began seething, “L…I…R…A!” he said through his teeth. Lira laughed, “Alright, alright. We’re 2 for 2 then.” Lira stood up and looked at Venom, “Thanks for saving me Venom! I love you,” and kissed him on the cheek. Venom blushed and Lira jumped off his shoulder. She looked up at Ephi and grinned, “Better luck next time Ephi!” and she dashed away again.
“Hey!” Ephi took a step and Venom walked in front of him and blocked him. Venom grinned mischievously, “Catching her has now become that much harder. Don’t think I’ll go easy on you next time,” and Venom left. Ephi stared at the leaving Venom, “That was easy!?” he sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. Ephi grinned, “Things have now gotten much more interesting,” and he left the beach.
