The Prank

Stealthy and quiet was the way to be in this situation. Lira was great at both given her size…but it doesn’t work when the one she was trying to sneak up on was Venom. Even now, with how close she was she was certain that Venom knew she was there. She’s not sure why he hasn’t turned around to look at her, but she wasn’t complaining.

By the time she was right near his back leg, she suspects that either Venom is ignoring she was there, which he has done before, more focused on something else, or just knew she was there and waiting for her to do whatever she had intended. He most likely thinks she’s just going to jump onto his shoulder like usual, that’s what she thinks.

Quietly carrying a marker with her, she heads to the front of his legs to see what he was doing…and she was surprised. Venom…was mediating?? Ok, maybe not mediating but his eyes are closed and seem to be deep in thought. She didn’t care what it was; she just knew that this was her perfect chance. She smiles mischievously, uncapping the marker as quiet as she could…

Venom knew Lira was there, he was used to her presence, so he really didn’t react to her at first. He heard her walking around his legs, but he left his eyes closed to focus on developing his newest ability. He could block out whatever she was trying to do anyways, especially if she was going to complain to him about something again.

He could feel her on his chest…doing something he’s unsure of. She’s traced along his birthmark before, some reason she was intrigued by doing it but this felt different. First off, he could feel that she wasn’t using her hand or finger, the texture was wrong. Secondly, it felt like she was rushing, and it didn’t feel right. Just as she finished and jumped away Venom opens his eyes.

Venom places his hand on his chest where Lira was a moment ago and looks down. At first, his eyes widened in surprise but then quickly turned to anger and a scowl, “LIRA!” he sneers, looking towards the tree where he saw that stupid little mouse laughing.

Lira continues to laugh, holding the red permanent marker against her. She had actually succeeded in drawing a pirate hat and pirate patch on Venom’s birthmark.  She knew the permanent marker wouldn’t last long, at least she knew Venom would be able to get the marker off his skin, but it looks hilarious on him, “It’s just a harmless little prank Venom~ Thanks for staying still for it.”

Venom continues to scowl, “You are going to regret this you stupid little mouse!” he warns, already thinking of a way to get back at her.
